Medicine and human rights
introduced by Roberto Satolli
The right to medical care is a universal human right, and as such every individual must be entitled to it. It cannot depend on the place of birth, social conditions or political affiliation. To ensure that care is truly accessible to everyone, it must be completely free; for it to be effective, it must be of high quality. Gino Strada, who knows and experiences the stories of the victims of war and poverty every day on the operating table, believes that there is only one way of practising medicine, creating equal opportunities for everyone, respecting the dignity and rights of man.
