Jean Tirole

A recipient of many honors and prizes, he was awarded in 2014 the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economics “for his analysis of market power and regulation”. He is chairman of the Foundation JJ Laffont-Toulouse School of Economics. He is also affiliated with MIT, where he holds a visiting position, and with the pluridisciplinary Institute for Advanced Study in Toulouse, which he helped found in 2011. He has published widely in the areas of industrial organization, regulation, organization theory, game theory, finance, macroeconomics and psychology, including: The Theory of Corporate Finance, Princeton University Press (2006), Game Theory (with D. Fudenberg), The MIT Press (1991).
